Nicholas' Birthday

This is the first day we celebrated Nick's birthday at Neenee and Dan's. It was Spaghetti Sunday so we got together with them and the Johnson cousins. A church in Borger has spaghetti every year, so we have done this a few times.
He gets a new Texas jersey and drums for World Tour.

Big Snow Day!

On March 27, 2009, we had 11 inches of snow. We have had a warm winter with many 70-80 degree days, but winter could not be over without one big snowfall. They cancelled school the night before at 6:30, which they never do, in anticipation. This picture shows how heavily the snow was falling in the evening.

Everyone outside building a snow fort and snowman! Does it have to be 65 degrees tomorrow?

Neighborhood kids build a snowman

We have the most wonderful group of kids as neighbors. They spend much time playing outside together. Today they built an 8-foot snowman next door.

Samuel and Nicholas working on the snow fort!

Meredith carrying some snow to the snow fort. She is in mismatched snow clothes, but when you only get snow once a year it's hard to come up with what to wear!

Let's go fly a kite!

The power of editing! Todd took the kids up to the park to fly a kite. The kite was way up in the air and Nick was in another picture so he put the two together! I am beginning to think everybody needs a new camera, right Todd and Susan? You guys seem to be using yours!

Leaving Carlsbad

Saying good-bye to Carlsbad Cavern.

Carlsbad Cavern

This is the only picture that came out of the cavern. The funny story about this is that Samuel did not have his glasses and I asked him if he could see okay. He said that he could see fine. Still, Grandma had brought an extra pair of glasses so we told him to look through those. His eyes about popped out of his head when he saw the cavern! He could not believe what he was not seeing! So the rest of the tour he wore her glasses and was very impressed at the cavern. So glad he did not miss the cavern experience with no glasses.

Just a nice picture of Grandma and the kids in front of a fountain. We are still at the Riverwalk.

The Riverwalk

Along the Pecos River they have a nice riverwalk. There was an awesome castle play structure that the kids played on and then we rented a paddleboat. All went well until Samuel leaned over and LOST HIS GLASSES in the river! He really needs them to see but a small town had no one-hour opticals.

Spring Break 2009

Our Spring Break trip to Carlsbad, New Mexico. Grandma, the kids and I took a trip to see the cavern and River Walk.

Here she is in her twinkling lights.

Meredith at the Christmas program

This is an old picture from this Christmas, but I thought it was worth remembering. Kindergarten had a program where they sang a few songs. This song was the "12 Days of Christmas." Meredith got a special part where she got to stand on stage by herself off to the side. She was the "1o twinkling lights" so she got to wear a string of lit-up Christmas lights. Her teacher told me this was the special part given to her because of her "vibrant personality." Yes, we know she is the queen of drama!

Meredith and her cousins

I don't remember the occasion, but this was taken at our house. Usually Macy and Meredith are in costume the whole time, but I think her mom made her change back into regular clothes to go home. And of course baby Lane.

Hula Hoop Contest

Nicholas does the hula as each grade competed to see who could hula the longest.

Samuel's class did a jump roping song. They took turns jumping over the ropes and sticks while someone moved the sticks and swung the ropes.

Puckett PE Program

The boys had a PE program at school last night. It was really funny. Each class performed choreographed songs demonstrating what they do in PE. Nicholas' class performed weight lifting to "Macho Man". Their barbells were made with balloons on each end on a bar. Nicholas is in the middle on the picture.

Meredith loves her kitty!

Kindergarten Cowboy Day

Meredith had cowboy day at her school today. I helped her class making stick horses out of old socks. Luckily she had an outfit that I made her last year for her Texas program.
