James, Mhari and Andrew

Todd had a CPE conference in Austin in May so we took the opportunity to spend time with my brother James, Mhari and their baby Andrew. Andrew is about 5 months old and we don't get to see him enough, or Jimmy and Mhari.

Nicholas on Award Day

Nicholas on 5th grade award day. He won First in Math for the district and a few other awards. Don't even get me started on how proud I was of the kids this school year! It was just nice for all of them to have a good year after the difficulty of last year starting a new school.

Meredith on ballet recital night

Meredith in her "Annie" costume and her formal tutu. They also jazz danced to "Men in Black," which was hilarious.

Prominent Pioneer

Samuel gets selected as a Prominent Pioneer at Crockett Middle School. Each teacher selects a student to receive this award based on overall academics and behavior. It is quite an honor and we were very proud of him. He is in the front row.

Easter Morning

It's not hard to get Meredith to dress up, but to get those boys to wear button-up shirts is a chore! But they all look so nice in their Easter best.

Spring Break 2010

For spring break we headed to Austin and San Antonio. First we stayed in Austin to meet my new nephew Andrew (can't believe I forgot to take pictures) and spend time with Jimmy and Mhari. We visited the campuses of Baylor and UT for the boys. Then we drove to San Antonio and stayed on the Riverwalk. We finished out the trip with a day at Fiesta Texas. A 6-day trip enjoyed by all.
Todd's parents were visiting Kerrville so they came and met us in San Antonio for the day.

The line to enter the Alamo was around the block! Crazy. It was spring break for others, too, obviously.

Fun at Fiesta Texas

Soaking Wet after the Water Ride

Winner of the Battle of the Books!

Nicholas' team wins UIL Battle of the Books competition! There were 33 teams from Amarillo represented so it was tough! Their next competition will be in Lubbock in May. He was SO PROUD!

Nicholas goes to the Ball

Nicholas got all dressed up and went to his first "ball" thru cotillion. He wanted me to come pick him up early because he was sure that he would not have a good time. When I arrived he was dancing and appearing to enjoy himself so we stayed until it was over. The kids were all in a big circle with the boys on the outside and the girls on the inside so they could switch partners at intervals. The dances were all led by the teacher so it was not just free dance. One activity was that the instructor handed a styrofoam ball to all the boys (I'm sure they were thinking they were going to get to throw them at girls) but they had to dance with their partner close enough that the ball stayed pressed between their foreheads while they foxtrotted.

A few more Christmas Pictures

Here are the kids with some presents. Nick got a Longhorn tee and a Rootbeer Maker. Meredith is wearing a new swimsuit as she always gets a new one at Christmas. Samuel is opening Wii Star Wars Light Sabers.

Thanksgiving in Dallas

We went to Dallas over the Thanksgiving weekend. We stayed at the Gaylord Texan and has this beautiful atrium view from our balcony. The hotel was hosting "The Grinch who Stole Christmas" ice sculptures (9 degrees while walking thru) that was really something to see (lost those pix). The highlight of the trip was the Baylor/Texas Tech game, in which Baylor did well but lost in the end.

Christmas Eve

Just a few pictures Christms Eve before church. I'm sure there will be more tomorrow but I liked these and decided to post them now. My big kids!!

Crazy Cat

Our crazy cat! You never know where you are going to find him! He gets in everything. I have even opened drawers and there he was!
